Just up one of the few roads surrounding the Tri Canyon is Utopia, Bandera, Camp Wood, Fredericksburg, Vanderpool, Medina, Rock Springs, and Uvalde are also nearby and offer additional lodging in the Texas Hill Country within 1-1.5 hrs in proximity.

Fortunately, the area offers plenty of "Frio River" cabins, river resorts, cottages, bunk houses, vacation homes, camping sites, RV Parks, lodges, B&B locations and more in Concan, Leakey or Rio Frio! Most of these vacation rentals reside amongst River Road (CR 348), Across Garner State Park on CR 350, HWY 83, FM 1050, HWY 127, 337, 336, & 1120..

However, with as many options we are fortunate to offer- We frequently suggest that everyone begin looking as soon as possible for any particular date they are interested in. Popular and non-popular dates can often fill up as long as 1 year in advance! As more people find out about the Frio and tell their friends- and local business' begin to have year around events and activities including golfing tournaments, car rallies, hunting, fishing tournaments, car clubs, bike rallies, church retreats, cyclists training, relays , live music, and plenty of other activities going on throughout the year. Many have no reason at all but just to come down and enjoy the peacefulness of just being here..

* Reservations Alert: We are personally noticing guests booking sooner and in more abundance this year as compared to last year. Wherever and whomever you wish you stay with we recommend everyone to begin searching as soon as possible for On & even Off Peak dates.

The area is known by many for filled up summers from Memorial to Labor Day & the difficulty in finding vacancy. It's not uncommon to see all the Major Crossings/Swimming Holes & Tubing Routes filled until maximum capacity during particular days. However we are also seeing an increase in off peak bookings for a variety of reasons. Many have commented that the Frio Canyon is a perfect place for a Honeymoons, Weddings, Family Reunions, Holidays like Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Valentines Day, and any day that you call your own Holiday because of it's very reasonable rates and amenities.

it's also not uncommon to see groups of cyclist during the fall/winter months enjoying our roads of 2748, 1120, 83, 350, 348, 1050 in & out of Rio Frio, Leakey and Concan.. Same goes for the Bikers who meet in Leakey (Central Location) for the Three Sisters Route of FM 335, 336 & 337 spidering out to Bandera, Vanderpool, Medina and other surrounding Hilly Rides.
